Schools need regime change

The fiscal philosophy of the Oak Harbor School Board clearly illustrates the need for regime change. The school board aggressively, and repeatedly, sought and finally obtained taxpayer funding for an athletic facility that superseded anticipated, and projected, academic monetary needs.

By placing the desire for a state-of-the-art athletic facility ahead of the academic monetary requirements that will shape the future success of our children, the school board has demonstrated their inability to develop a cogent financial paradigm for our community. Due to this history of misguided prioritization, I do not have faith that the school board will rationally spend the money taken out of our family’s pocket.

I will only vote yes on these tax initiatives if the entire school board voluntarily steps down from their positions. Let’s get some new blood in the works, let’s get some folks who will properly prioritize financial needs, and set progressive policy.
