A 1990 Lincoln driven by a 40-year-old Lynnwood man created a little havoc for people living on Scenic Heights Road Thursday morning.
Island County Sheriff’s Deputy Sheriff Lane Campbell said Lee Nelson was driving northbound on Scenic Heights Road at approximately 11:30 a.m. when he veered off the west shoulder of the road.
Nelson’s vehicle first sheared off the Balda Road intersection sign before traveling approximately 135 feet and striking a Verizon utility pole.
The vehicle continued north along the road shoulder for approximately another 365 feet before coming to rest on the driver’s side in the ditch.
Nelson was transported to Whidbey General Hospital by ambulance as a precautionary measure.
Deputies continue their investigation into the cause of the accident.
