Rarely does a team that dominates the offensive boards lose, but that’s what happened to the Oak Harbor boys basketball team at Everett Friday, Dec. 17.
Special agents with the U.S. Postal Inspective Service served a search warrant Thursday at a Coupeville home as part of an investigation into a 60-year-old woman who’s been ordered to pay back $2 million she received from an Alzheimer’s patient.

“It didn’t just fall over, it exploded,” Barnes said.
Glaciers that moved across Whidbey and Camano islands churned up the earth, creating groundwater geology that is highly complex. Like trampled layer cakes, a mixed strata of aquifers, rock, clay and silt of varying thicknesses and depths lay underfoot.
I applaud the Island County Assessor’s Office for the removal of photographs revealing non-public views of privately-owned property and ask that they not stop there.
I urge the assessor to take the additional step of removing “search by name” from the search engine.
