Oak Harbor School District serving free lunches this summer

This summer, Oak Harbor School District plans to again provide free lunches for children ages 5-18.

This summer, Oak Harbor School District plans to again provide free lunches for children ages 5-18.

The lunches are available to all children regardless of family income. The program is paid for by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The meals will be served Monday through Friday from June 27-Aug.26 at locations around Oak Harbor.

No meal service will be available on July 4.

Locations and approximate meal times are 11:45 a.m. at the Roller Barn, 98 NE Barron Drive; 11 a.m. Crescent Harbor Playground Area, 330 E. Crescent Harbor Road; 11:15 a.m. Victory Terrace Navy Housing Community Center, 2205 Egret Drive; and 11:30 a.m. in the gazebo at Windjammer Park.

Service is available for 45 minutes, and children need to eat lunch on site.
