An 18-year-old Oak Harbor man, who punched his sister in the face and knocked out her tooth, was sent to jail.

Michael A. Steen pleaded guilty in Island County Superior Court Oct. 29 to third-degree assault, a domestic-violence crime.

The judge agreed with the plea-bargained sentencing recommendation and sent him to jail for four months.

A woman who lives in a mobile home park on Crosby Avenue in Oak Harbor reported that her brother, Steen, assaulted her while they were walking in the park together.

The woman said Steen punched her “out of nowhere,” the report states. The blow knocked out one of her front teeth and fractured a second.

Steen ran out of the park after he realized what he had done, his sister said.

Police arrested Steen and brought him to the jail.

When he was told that he had knocked his sister’s tooth out, he started loudly crying, the officer wrote.

At the time of his arrest, Steen was wanted on four warrants related to domestic violence.
