Not so many believe in God

In the March 13 issue, columnist Joan Bay Klope stated that “92 percent of Americans believe in God.” This is completely untrue. At this time there are at least 15 percent of Americans who are non-believers (that is over 45 million people!). We can have a contest here.

This is completely untrue. At this time there are at least 15 percent of Americans who are non-believers (that is over 45 million people!). We can have a contest here. If Ms. Klope can present the source of her numbers I will be glad to present my source. The “Freedom from Religion Foundation” held its 2009 annual meeting in Seattle. It was fully booked very early and they had to turn away hundreds of individuals due to lack of room.

When Christopher Hitchens gave his views against religion in Seattle a couple of years ago he had a packed audience of over 2,000 people and was given a standing ovation. The fact is that non-believers is the fastest growing section of Americans now.
