Morrow paces Aquajets in Bellingham meet | NWAC

Morrow, who won the high point award in the 11-12 boys division, captured all eight of his individual events; broke a 13-year-old team record in the 100 breast (1:14.15); joined the Minute Club in the 100 free with a 58.26; and established new Pacific Northwest Swim cuts in the 200 butterfly and 200 and 400 individual medleys.

Also winning high point awards for the Aquajets were Kyto Morrow, who won two events in the boys 8-and-under division, and Jerrin Concepcion, who won seven events and led off two victorious boys 10-and-under relays joined by Lawrence Zapanta, Bruce Vagt and Shamus Warden.

Earning 100 percent personal records were Cedric Cabigting, Casey Cabigting, JD Cabigting, Concepcion, Angele Dennen, John Middleton, Brynn Schmid, Maira Sulin, Olivia Tungate, Brannigan Vogt and Baelee Whitinger.

Clocking 100 percent relay PRs were Taliah Black, Mollie Briddell, Cedric Cabigting, JD Cabigting, Concepcion, Trina Desquitado, Micah Geist, Kelly Huffer, Michael Johnson, Chloe LaRue, Cali Ledesma, John Middleton, Mary Middleton, Patty Miessner, Kenneth Morrow, Schmid, Emily Schroeder, Hannah Schroeder, Brett Vagt, Molly Vagt, Andrew Vogt, Kelsey Vogt, Warden and Cole Weinstein.

The following achieved respective cuts:

Silver: Casey Cabigting, Dennen, LaRue, Miessner, Schmid, Noah Schroeder, Brannigan Vogt and Whitinger.

Gold: Briddell, Cedric Cabigting, Geist, Mary Middleton, Michelle Robinson and Warden.

PNS: Black, Emily Huffer, Josh Jepsen, Michael Johnson, Kenneth Morrow, Bruce Vagt and Zapanta.

AGS: Tungate.

Western Zone: Tungate, Kelly Huffer.

In addition to Kenneth Morrow, team records were set by Kelly Huffer and Emily Huffer. Kelley Huffer also joined Morrow in the Minute Club (59.5 in the fly).

Event wins came from Concepcion, Emily Huffer, Kelly Huffer, Jepsen, Kenneth Morrow, Kyto Morrow, Tungate, Bruce Vagt and Weinstein.

Emily Schroeder took the NWAC RelayBig Award with PRs in two relays.

Swimmer of the Meet honors went to John Middleton with PRs in all eight individual events and both relays and with time drops of 54 seconds in the 200 free (3.3l.92), 42 seconds in the 50 fly (55.44) and 34 seconds in the 100 free (1:37.14)

NWAC next competes at the Halloween Invitational at the Oak Harbor pool from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Oct. 27 and 28.

The North Whidbey Aquatic Club is a competitive swimming program of the North Whidbey Park and Recreation District. It includes swimmers of all abilities and ages from 6 through college.

Tryouts occur Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the city pool from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. New swimmers should be able to swim a length of the pool in freestyle and backstroke. The first two weeks are free.
