Man airlifted to Seattle hospital after crash Sunday

An Arlington man was injured in a one-car crash Sunday morning on North Whidbey, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Mark Strait, 45, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. He is listed in serious condition in the ICU as of Monday evening.

Strait was driving a 2014 Subaru Forester north on Monkey Hill Road when the car left the roadway at Troxell Road, according to a state patrol report. The car traveled across a field and struck a fence.

Strait was wearing a seatbelt. The car sustained “reportable damage,” the state patrol reported.

The accident was reported at 10:49 a.m.

The state patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
