Enough already about the library and the new sports stadium location. Let’s compromise. I do not agree with the proposed location of a new sports stadium, but I will compromise and bend over for the school board, seeing they have shoved the high school location down our throats.

I was a member of the citizen committee to find a suitable location for the new stadium, and it was very apparent, Dr. Schulte and the majority of the school board preferred the high school location. So, let’s compromise. The opportunity is there for the library to be located at the Memorial Stadium site. I understand the land was willed, or leased to the school district for their use, but there are loopholes in everything we do.

All children including young adults at the high school can use the library, as well as the public that pay taxes to support the schools and library. What a concept!

The existing Memorial Stadium site offers space for parking, easy access to the transit line, and close proximity to the Senior Center. If the building is laid out in the optimum direction, you can see a beautiful view of the harbor. Sounds like a logical compromise and good use of our tax dollars and available properties.

Let’s think outside the box and work together to build a community for all of us to enjoy.
