The National Park Service and Washington State Parks are offering their last free day of the year Nov. 11 in honor of Veterans Day.

The National Park Service also offers a free annual parks pass to active U.S. Military and their dependents. This pass is a ticket to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites. The pass is available to U.S. service members and dependents in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard as well as Reserve and National Guard members.

The only national park on Whidbey Island is Ebey’s Landing. However, national parks like Mount Rainier are also free all day. Mount Rainier businesses also support service members and their families throughout the year.

Whidbey Island has many state parks, though. They are Deception Pass, Joseph Whidbey, Fort Ebey, Fort Casey and South Whidbey.
