The following items were selected from reports made to the Island County Sheriff’s Office:

Sunday, Aug. 8

At 2:36 p.m., a caller reported that he was given a ride by two men, but one of the men pulled a gun and ordered him out of the car on Taylor Road.

At 7:44 a.m., there was a report that several mailboxes were smashed on Heritage Way.

At 10:42 a.m., a driver reported that he attempted to pass a Hyundai that was going 10 mph under the speed limit on Highway 20 near Deception Pass, but the car sped up. The Hyundai driver started going fast, then slow, and was flipping off the caller.

At 12:23 p.m., a caller reported that a suicidal woman on North Whidbey hit herself in the head with a pan and was bleeding badly.

At 1:08 p.m., there was a report that a long-haired man with a dragon on his shirt was acting disorderly at the Bible Baptist Church.

At 3:50 p.m., a Lyon Road resident reported that she lost her quarter horse.

At 8:40 a.m., there was a report that someone broke into the Glencairn Community office on Sidney Street and stole the safe.

At 10:23 a.m., a possible animal neglect case was reported on Salal Street. A large number of cats were running around and some appeared to be malnourished.

Saturday, Aug. 7

At 5:41 p.m., a Quail Ridge Place resident reported that she has a sparrow that was injured by her cat. She also said she has a hurt bat.

At 7:08 p.m., a Trisha Lane resident reported that a stray cat outside her home was skinny and near death. The caller reported that “rigor mortis was going to set in shortly but the cat was still alive.”

At 7:10 p.m., a West Beach Road resident reported that her iPad was stolen.

Friday, Aug. 6

At 7:08 a.m., an employee at Whidbey General Hospital asked to have a woman removed. The woman had been discharged and was wandering the halls.

At 12:07 p.m., a Cascade Place resident reported that subjects rang his doorbell and planted a bug in his house.

At 4:12 p.m., a caller reported that people had a fire on a beach off of Geck Road.

At 4:20 p.m., a Sherman Road resident reported that six pink flamingos were stolen from the yard. The caller said the flamingos were for a fundraising project.

At 10:23 p.m., a Heller Road resident reported that someone broke his window and was trying to get inside the house.

At 11:10 p.m., a caller reported that a drunk man on Mitscher Drive “has gone crazy and is hitting everyone.”

Thursday, Aug. 5

At 6:16 a.m., a caller reported that a mother raccoon and two babies were dead on the side of Taylor Road. Two hours later, the caller reported that one of the baby raccoons “is now sitting up and alive.”

At 5 p.m., a Spitfire Lane resident reported that his stepdad threatened to burn his house down.

At 6:30 p.m., a Central Whidbey resident reported that her 14-year-old daughter received explicit texts from a 14-year-old boy.

Wednesday, Aug. 4

At 11:10 a.m., a caller reported that a someone stole a GPS device and a cigarette lighter from a car parked on Nimitz Drive.

At 8:17 p.m., a caller reported that two horses were in the middle of Highway 525 at Race Road.

At 11:41 p.m., there was a report that a man shot a woman’s cell phone on E. Frostad Road.

Tuesday, Aug. 3

At 6:02 a.m., a caller reported that a woman in pink shorts walking on Whitney Drive appeared to be impaired.

At 7:26 p.m., a caller reported that a woman, who was “messed up on something,” was in a neighbor’s yard on Whitney Drive and wouldn’t leave.

At 1:44 p.m., a Homestead Road resident reported the theft of jewelry.

At 5 p.m., a caller reported that mail was stolen and tampered with on Pleasant Place.

At 5:03 p.m., a Highway 20 resident reported that an intoxicated man was lying in the caller’s yard.

At 9:17 p.m., an Airline Way resident reported that a 15-year-old boy was assaulting his father.

At 7:20 p.m., a caller reported a small kitten was left in a small box outside the animal shelter on Highway 20.

Friday, Aug. 6

At 5:50 p.m., a NE Third Street resident reported an injured hawk was at her home.

Thursday, Aug. 5

At 7:03 p.m., a NE Fifth Street resident reported finding a stray dog that looks like Toto from the Wizard of Oz.

Wednesday, Aug. 4

At 11:02 p.m., a caller reported hearing about eight shotgun blasts near the intersection of Highway 20 and Libbey Road.

At 8:17 p.m., a caller reported two horses in the middle of the road near the intersection of Highway 525 and Race Road.

At 6:42 p.m., a NW Sixth Street resident reported dozens of people with paraphernalia coming in and out of his apartment at all times. His speech was slurred, sounded confused and he didn’t know his address.

At 12:36 p.m., a NW Capsan Court resident reported a Nissan Sentra was keyed.
