Oak Harbor High School junior, Felicia Hill is making her way to Portland Community College this weekend to participate in the U.S.A. Junior Nationals All-State basketball competition.

Hill, a guard on the Wildcat girls state basketball team, was invited to take part in the event after showcasing her abilities on two separate AAU teams in the off-season. When not playing for Oak Harbor, Hill participates as a member of BSI and the Seattle Blast in a number of summer tournaments.

During this weekend’s event Hill will display her skills in game situations, hoping to earn a spot on one of three U.S.A. Junior National teams. They will divide a pool of athletes from around the Northwest into separate teams this weekend where individuals will be evaluated on performance.

“I’m excited to see the competition because I want to see what I have to improve on with my game,” Hill said.

If she is selected by the evaluators, Hill will get to represent Washington State July 21-27 in Columbus, Ohio, at the U.S.A. Junior Nationals Sports Festival.
