‘Highly-trained’ dog attacks, tries to open door | Island Scanner

The following items were selected from reports made to the Island County Sheriff’s Office:

Wednesday, Feb. 1

At 9:32 a.m., a Newman Road resident reported that goats were eating everything in the yard.

At 9:52 a.m., a Hazzle Court resident reported that someone moved her vehicle, which she found with nails in the tire. She said her newspaper was also missing.

At 10:37 a.m., a Hastings Road resident reported that someone was trying to get it the house.

At 11:44 a.m., a Whitney Drive resident reported that neighbors were burning stinky garbage and the smoke was so thick he couldn’t see outside.

At 4:57 p.m., a caller reported that three boys crawled into “a structure” underneath Deception Pass Bridge and were filming with a Go-Pro.

At 7:27 p.m., a woman on Lockwood Drive reported that her ex-husband stole her vehicle.

At 8:33 p.m., a Jones Road resident reported that someone “got into her house again.”

Thursday, Feb. 2

At 10:09 a.m., a caller reported that a neighbor’s dog were killing chickens in the coop on Brideck Lane.

Saturday, Feb. 4

At 12:18 a.m., a woman reported that a drunk man was walking on Airline Way and refused a ride.

At 10:54 a.m., a kitchen fire was reported on Dugualla Road.

At 6:51 p.m., a North Main Street resident reported a suspicious man at her back door.

Sunday, Feb. 5

At 6:59 a.m., a Sloan Place resident reported hearing footsteps around her bedroom.

At 3:52 p.m., a caller reported that an older woman in black was walking in the middle of Taylor Road.

At 4:39 p.m., there was a report of a dog walking on the highway in the Dugualla Bay area.

At 6:17 p.m., a caller reported that a man threatened to shoot up an Oak Harbor pizza place with an AK-47 because he was upset about having to pay for a pizza.

At 8:50 p.m., a caller reported that his wife was living in a tent on Oak Harbor Road.

At 11:34 p.m., a man reported that he was walking on the “20 freeway” but didn’t know where he was. He said he received death threats from someone named Jesus.

Monday, Feb. 6

At 10:19 a.m., a caller reported that blankets were laying on the ground next to a trailer at the intersection of the highway and Libbey Road.

At 11:26 a.m., a caller reported that a neighbor’s “highly trained” German shepherd attacked her husband and their dog on Cascade View Drive. The caller said the dog also comes onto their deck and tries to open the door.

At 11:49 a.m., a caller on Nimitz Drive reported that someone in an electric hatchback drove by and took a photo of his house.

At 3:34 p.m., a caller reported that a man parked a van at a vacant house on Marine View Drive and was “carrying on,” listening to loud music and yelling at people.

Tuesday, Feb. 7

At 1:01 a.m., a caller reported that a man was driving his vehicle without permission while he was in jail. He said the man refused to give the car back.

At 5:16 a.m., a driver reported that roads are very icy. A series of accidents were reported that morning on Whidbey.

At 9:39 a.m., a caller reported that a baby stroller was on a pathway near Libbey Woods.

At 11:02 a.m., a Race Road resident reported the theft of firewood.

At 11:57 a.m., a caller reported an ongoing problem with a vehicle “doing donuts” in a parking lot on Harns Road.
