Throughout the course of the current political campaigns, I have wondered why some of our Republican citizens have not questioned the credibility of one of the candidates for Island County Commissioner, District 1.

Since I have known her, Reece Rose has never been a Republican and has worked diligently against Republican candidates for office as a Libertarian Party advocate. In fact, Reece Rose and her husband Rufus were hired by the Libertarian Party during the last four election cycles to recruit candidates to run for election knowing full well those votes their candidates might get would take votes away from the deserving conservative Republican candidates.

She has professed to be a Libertarian as long as I have known of her and did not become a Republican until this year when she decided to run for election and knew she didn’t have a chance to win as a Libertarian because the party’s presence is not strong enough to enable a win.

Don’t fall prey to a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Look through the smoke and mirrors. Reece Rose is not a Republican and will never subscribe to the philosophies of the party. She is and always will be a Libertarian.

When Commissioner District 1 Republicans pick your ballot in the primary election, please remember that Mike Shelton has always been a Republican, has always been true to the party, is loyal and has admirably represented each and every none of us as our Island County Commissioner. Mike tells the truth and does not hide behind an adopted facade for personal gain. He is our commissioner and I strongly urge all Republicans in Commissioner District 1 to vote for Mike Shelton in the primary.
