Residents in and around Coupeville raised nearly $1,500 Saturday during an Oso Relief fundraiser at Coupeville Farmers Market.

The cash and coin drive was a collaboration between the market, Coupeville Historic Waterfront Association and Coupeville Chamber.

A booth at the market featured a giant card visitors could sign, sending well wishes and words of encouragement for the landslide victims and survivors.

In all, $1,475 was raised in change, cash and checks, said Vickie Chambers, executive director of the historic waterfront association. “I am so proud of our community for giving so much.”
