City code: Trees eyed by developers

We haven’t died, left the state or changed our minds. Nor have all the other people attending the meeting, arranging the petitions, who sent the letters of regretful feelings regarding removing trees in “Oak” Harbor.

Years ago “Oak” Harbor was a thick oak grove. Now you have to look for oak trees. All that building.

Now the new administration wants to change the hard fought code to benefit development. Chop down 85 percent of life. A form of life that took years to form.

No, darn you people, leave our towns and island alone. Go manage the places you come from.

What kind of trees can grow back to greatness in what time span even if you planted for every one taken? Where will you plant these if buildings are in their place?

It sounds as though they want to plant park clusters where we don’t need them, and green belts along highways.

Don’t let their vague talk fool you. Look at the hills at west Oak Harbor.

They must be stopped. This building mindset must be stopped now for good.
