Central Whidbey Lions lent a helping hand this week helping to assemble a storage shed at the Pacific Northwest Art School.

A kit for the shed was donated by art school volunteers Bub and Carol Bement and the lions donated their time over several days for assembly.

Lisa Bernhardt, art school director, said the shed will be used for extra storage.

“We have tons of supplies,” Bernhardt said. “We’re just at capacity.”

“This will make things more efficient.”

Central Whidbey Lions do a number of construction projects in the community.

The club built new picnic tables for the Coupeville Wharf and Greenbank Farm this summer.

The club also installed a new playground down at the farm.

Just last week they delivered five tables to South Whidbey and an additional table to the art school.

“It used to take us a day to build a table,” said Lion Bill Jones. “Now we can build five in a day.”
