Boys golf: Wildcats struggle, but Ford shines

Although his team struggled, Oak Harbor golfer Judd Ford had

a strong week, placing first and second in a pair of four-team matches Tuesday

and Wednesday, April 19 and 20.

Tuesday, Ford earned medalist honors with a two-over 38 in a

nine-hole match at Whidbey Golf and Country Club. The Wildcats finished third

with 234 strokes.

Glacier Peak took the day with 212, followed by Everett with

223. Lynnwood placed fourth with 240.

Greg Martin shot a 42 for Oak Harbor, Quinton Wallace 46,

David Bunch 54, Jake Nelson 54 and Caleb Knaack 63.

Wednesday, Ford placed second with a 10-over 82 in an

18-hole match at Everett’s Legion Memorial Golf Course.

Everett won the match with 428 strokes, trailed by Lynnwood

(451), Mountlake Terrace (459) and Oak Harbor (463).

Martin carded an 83, Wallace 88, Knaack 104, Nelson 107 and

Bunch 109.

Friday, April 29, the Wildcats finish up the regular

season with a four-way match with Glacier Peak, Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace at KenWanda at 3 p.m..
