Everett clubbed 11 hits and took advantage of four Oak Harbor errors to defeat the host Wildcats 7-5 Friday, April 15.

The Seagulls took the lead for good with a three-run sixth inning. Down 5-4, a walk and two singles produced one run, then an Oak Harbor error allowed two more Seagulls to score.

The Wildcats scored first when Jay Stout doubled and scored on Yale Rosen’s base hit in the first inning.

Oak Harbor starter Josh Evans had five strike outs in the first two innings, but Everett pushed across two runs in the third on a walk, triple and sacrifice fly.

The Wildcats tied it at 2 in the bottom half. Peter Franssen walked, stole second, moved to third on a fly ball and scored on an error.

Oak Harbor went up 3-2 with a run in the fourth. Ryan Byrne reached on an infield single and then pinch runner Matt Jackson moved to third on a pair of wild pitches and scored on David Tillotson’s sharp single to left.

Everett recaptured the lead with a two-run fifth. The Seagulls mixed three errors, a walk, a wild pitch and a single to produce the two runs and a 4-3 lead.

The Wildcats responded with two runs in the fifth to take their final lead. With one out Stout walked, stole second and scored on Rosen’s double. Evans singled in Rosen.

Oak Harbor, which has lost three of its past four games, fell to 8-4-1 and 5-3. Everett improved to 6-8 and 4-4.

Oak Harbor goes to Lynnwood (2-11, 1-6) Tuesday, April 19, at 3:30 p.m. and then hosts the Royals Wednesday at 4 p.m.
