The Mavericks collected nine hits off five different Wildcat pitchers and mixed them with six Oak Harbor errors, eight walks and several wild pitches to bury the Wildcats.  Nine of Meadowdale’s runs were unearned.

The Oak Harbor offense, coming off two high-scoring wins over Lynnwood, disappeared and picked up only four hits.

The Mavericks scored a run in the first inning on a walk, stolen base, error and ground out to go up 1-0.

That score stood until the fourth with Meadowdale added three more runs on one hit, and error and three walks.

Yale Rosen singled and scored on Ryan Byrne’s double for Oak Harbor in the bottom of the inning to make it 4-1.

The Mavericks got two more in the fifth off a triple, walk, error and wild pitch.

Jay Stout scored for the ‘Cats in the fifth. He walked, moved to second on a balk, stole third and scored on an error.

Meadowdale added four in the sixth on an error, three singles and a triple. In the seventh, two walks came around to score on two wild pitches and an error.

Stout and Sam Glavick singled for Oak Harbor’s only other hits in the game.

Oak Harbor (10-5-1, 7-4) and Meadowdale (5-9, 4-5) play again Tuesday, April 26, at Meadowdale at 4 p.m.
