On Sept. 22, a fisherman from Bellevue, fully dressed with backpack and hip waders, was washed off of the beach at Ala Spit and into the bay.

He was in the water approximately 15 minutes and close to death when he washed up on our beach.

We got him out of the water and into the house to warm up and the paramedics took over from there.

The area is becoming increasingly dangerous because the erosion of the beach is increasing with every high tide.

We have seen many events of people daring to cross at high tide barely making it. Women trying to carry young children who would certainly drown if dropped.

More signs need to be installed and people need to know this has become a dangerous spot at high tide.

We don’t want to come home some day and find a body on the beach below our house.

If we had not been home on Sept. 22 the man in question would never gotten out of the water by himself because he was just too tired.

Please let people know this is an increasing danger with every high tide.
