Air Force Airman MATTHEW C. GOEBEL graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the son of John Goebel of State Road 20, Oak Harbor. Goebel graduated in 2010 from Oak Harbor High School.

Army Reserve Pfc. ANGELA M. BELL has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

She is the daughter of Sheri Smith of Oak Harbor, and graduated in 1993 from Monroe High School.

Navy Seaman CHELSI J. TOW, daughter of Wendi J. Tow of Oak Harbor, and Timothy W. Tow, of Laurel, Md., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

During the eight-week program, Tow completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. Tow is a 2007 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
