We could save by insourcing police

I agree with Mr. Plitt (Letters, Nov. 27) and those dastardly unions causing havoc in the economy. Mr. Plitt failed to educate the public on the reasons. Presidents Clinton and Bush signed free trade agreements which allowed corporations to off shore jobs to workers in China, Mexico and India. These workers get paid $1 to $2 dollars an hour for the same job Americans got paid $10 to $15 an hour.

What a sham. Let’s let the free market work, eh? We should all lead a drive to have the police unions decertified and tell them that they will have to accept $2 an hour to do their job or they are fired! Then we’ll advertise in the Mexico City, Bejing, and New Dehli newspapers for police officer positions in Oak Harbor.

People that don’t have a problem outsourcing to these countries should not have a problem insourcing from these countries. But you may need to brush up on your Chinese, Spanish or Hindi, in order to communicate effectively with the police.
