Officer Horn (Whidbey News-Times, Aug. 14) is “working his way back into a position of trust with the officers in the office,” said Chief Wallace.
What about Joe Public’s trust? This man falsified his time cards and the city won’t come clean about exactly how much, and wants us to endure higher taxes to continue employing him as if nothing had happened after he accepted more than a year’s paid vacation (leave). Why are the supervisors that approved his time cards that they knew to be inaccurate not being disciplined? Why should the public feel threatened by law enforcment layoffs due to budget reductions? Seems to me we would be better off not paying for what we are not getting. The buck stops at the top.
