Price Johnson respects all her constituents | Letter

Editor,

The Island County Board of Commissioners is elected to represent constituents with a broad range of social, economic, environmental, commercial and agricultural interests.

These interests are sometimes in conflict with one another, and compromise is needed to implement policies that help make our islands a home we are proud of.

Helen Price Johnson, our commissioner for District 1, has demonstrated the skills needed to formulate policies and solutions that work for Island County. Her willingness to listen to constituents’ concerns and to collaborate with others to reconcile differences of opinion in the pursuit of solutions has shown exceptional results during her tenure on the board of commissioners.

I do not agree with every policy decision of the board of commissioners, but Helen has my complete support because of the respect that she shows her constituents as well as the professional and collaborative process she follows in reaching those decisions.

District 1 voters agree — Helen won nearly 70 percent of the votes cast in the Aug. 2 primary election.
