Letter: Trump should not be removed from ballot

Editor,

I am curious to know what law school Ms. Mayer graduated from (Dec. 27 letter to the editor.) Her understanding of constitutional law far exceeds mine, numerous law professors and a few judges. That the partisan Colorado Supreme Court chose to uphold a fantasy dream of unhinged Democrats indicates how nutty they are. I trust judges in this state are a little more grounded.

What Trump did was make a speech and nothing more. He was not standing on the capital steps encouraging people to riot, did not order the troops to round up congress and jail them, encourage a riot, or anything else that would be grounds for an indictment of insurrection.

I doubt he would open the border to millions of illegal aliens, drug smugglers, and terrorists, or give Iran the means to attack Israel through surrogates, put our troops in danger without retribution, or get us into a proxy war. Inflation was under control under Trump and minorities saw real gains in income.

Yes Ms. Mayer, he would be a terrible dictator. And for that you would use dictatorial powers to keep him out of office.
