Letter: Lions Club supports city in many ways

Editor,

It is an honor for the Oak Harbor Lions Club members to put out over 300 flags in the city 12 times a year. We want to thank all the individuals and merchants that sponsor our program. Please take the time to thank merchants with flags outside of their business as they make it possible for us to assist the community in many ways.

All of our profits are returned to the community. Some of our projects are eye glasses, hearing aids, road side clean up, loan medical equipment, Memorial Day Program, scholarships, vision screening in the Oak Harbor schools, assist Help House, sponsor Holiday House, provide transportation for the homeless to shelters, financial support for many groups and many more projects.

This Fourth of July we put out our flags. Three of our members discovered a group of teenagers that had taken three flags and was playing with them. Two other flags were stolen and have not been found. If anyone has any information about them, please let us know.

We are always looking for more members to share in our programs. We may be contacted at ohlions.org or 360-499-6476.
