Letter: Hoffmire is professional, hard worker

Editor,

As I was in a management position with the North Whidbey Parks, Pool and Recreation District, I had many conversations with Shane over the course of the several years I was there and found he approached his role as commissioner with professionalism and careful consideration of how his actions would affect his community.

Shane wasn’t afraid to stand up for what he felt was right, even if it meant his voice differed from others on the board. He was quick to offer support, whether it meant volunteering for an event, helping to solve problems or listening to our patrons. His tireless work ethic and kind words were inspiring and appreciated by district staff.

I truly believe his thoughtful approach, his ability to listen to those around him and his desire to see his community truly thrive make him an excellent candidate for mayor

Shane’s experience on the city council has resulted in a heightened awareness to the needs of the community. With that awareness has come a desire to lead Oak Harbor in the years ahead as the city administration works alongside the residents of Oak Harbor to strengthen the community together.
