Letter: Consequence of climate change is catastrophic

Editor,

The Oct. 8, 2018 Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5 °C (SR15), published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, makes clear that “climate change is now abrupt and irreversible.” “Even abrupt geophysical events don’t approach current rates of change.”

In other words, the current rate of environmental change is a magnitude faster than the effect of an interstellar body hitting the planet 66 million years ago — adios dinosaurs. It is the rate of environmental change that determines the success of every population and species.

Allow me to dumb down this information for editors, economists, government officials, “scientists” et al., i. e., clueless morons: Denatured apes are toast. Own it.
