Letter | Choose: Hands raised up and open or fist raised in division?

Editor,

I am writing this to explain why I will never raise my fist for Black Lives Matter.

The other day, a video came out showing BLM protesters — bullies — demanding that patrons at a restaurant raise their fists in support of the BLM movement.

I will never support BLM. I like to think that I would have raised both my hands in praise of Jesus.

After I did that, I could then turn and offer my hand to the protester and then we could have talked about justice and meaningful changes.

All lives matter to God, each and everyone of us, and that is why every life matters to me. It is because of my relationship with Jesus that when I see injustice I am saddened.

I will never take a knee to anyone or anything except to God. No man is better or worse than myself and that is why I can, with the help of God, offer my hand to others in hope of coming together to fight injustice wherever and whenever it is found.

I can also say the Pledge of Allegiance to America because it has the words “under God” in it.

If “under God” were taken out, I will not say the pledge any longer.

There you have it, hands raised up and open or a fist raised in division. Time to choose.
