Letter: Boeing should be placed in workers’ hands

Editor,

The flying public needs protection.

Once again, the Boeing Co. illustrates that it prioritizes making money rather than making solid aircraft. It has such hubris as to seek an FAA safety exemption even after the 737-Max disasters.

As a retired Boeing employee, I know that my former co-workers are dedicated to building airworthy planes that will safely transport their families and the public. They should be in charge, not hounded by mismanagement to cut corners.

Boeing is much too important to our region and the country to be left in private hands that will continue to run it into the ground.

Use emergency government powers to seize Boeing and make it a public entity, run by its very competent workers, and answerable to the citizens.
