Let’s vote on city upgrade

I was walking around Oak Harbor last Saturday morning with the better half, window shopping. Downtown Oak Harbor was pleasantly surprising with very nice shops and as much variety and high end as Langley or Coupeville.

The sidewalks needed attention, and vacant lots needed weeding, but that is not unusual in any town. It still has great views. I have often thought it would help quite a bit to close traffic and upgrade to cobblestone or something like it.

I was also looking around my spread and thinking it could do with a million dollar upgrade. If I took just a few bucks from every homeowner on the island, who would care?

Perhaps if everyone took something from everyone, the world would be a better place. Could we at least vote on this taxation?
