Soldiers pull for Wildcats

As I sit here in my cleaned and packed barracks room awaiting my flight to Iraq I anxiously scanned through the Seattle Times online high school sports section. I have been following your amazing progress these last two seasons, first while on the Mexican border with the Washington State National Guard and now, from Ft. Hood, Texas, as I prepare to leave for 15 months in Iraq.

And I have to tell you all, one of the greatest moments I have each week is finding out how you guys did on the your own battlefield. Your excellence and skill, determination and endless heart have brought this soldier great pleasure and you have made me very proud to be an Oak Harbor Wildcat Alumnus.

You guys keep it up, you are making myself and the guys in my platoon incredibly proud. We’ll be watching the scores on the Internet and reading the paper each week to get the highlights.

Go Wildcats!
