Experience a reminder of all the good on island

Editor,

Last week I bought a mattress and boxsprings from Habitat for Humanity, a great community service organization.

When it was delivered, the two mattress frames I had were the wrong size. I was distraught and frustrated.

John, one of the delivery volunteers, said not to worry, that he would check when he got back to the store and if the right size was there, he would come back.

Two hours later, he rang my bell with the right size frame and helped me set it up, all with a smile. I sent my two frames back to Habitat as donations.

This letter is not a political complaint. I know we have jet noise and contaminated water issues.

This is a reminder to all that we are so lucky to be surrounded by giving, caring people on Whidbey, people who are loving and kind.

Thank you, John. You made my day!
