Don’t move the jet noise to Deception Pass State Park

Editor,

Your March 29 article about the Navy’s draft Environmental Impact Statement for adding 35 or 36 additional Growlers at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island calls for comment.

The anti-noise group Citizens for Ebey’s Reserve apparently values the wildlife and residents of their area as more important than the wildlife and residents in the vicinity of Deception Pass State Park, just north of Ault Field.

That park is the most visited state park in Washington. Its visitors and resident wildlife do not deserve whatever higher noise levels would result from decreasing or eliminating aircraft activity in the Reserve area.

Ault Field activities produce more than a sufficiency of noise without adding Ebey’s Reserve’s share of the noise.
