Bicycle tour sets new record

The Tour de Whidbey bicycle event was a tremendous success because of the 145 volunteers who gave their time and goodwill to the event. A record number of riders, 505, came this year. Their universal feedback was how welcoming and hardworking the volunteers are. We agree!

On behalf of the Whidbey General Hospital Foundation, I want to express our gratitude to everyone who helped make the event happen and as a result made possible the purchase of a state-of-the-art ultrasound for the obstetrics unit.

A number local businesses and community organizations were key to our success: Whidbey Vision Care, Maple Ridge Assisted Living Community, Whidbey Island Bank, Oak Harbor Christian Church, Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor, Windermere Real Estate-Whidbey Island, Coupeville High School Honor Society, Boy Scouts, Central Whidbey Lions, Island County Amateur Radio Club, Goldwings Motorcycle Club, WGH Auxiliary, Polly Harpole Hospital Guild, Dr. Paul Bishop Hospital Guild, WGH Employee Council and WGH employees from the MAC/Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging and Rehabilitation departments.

Thank you all.
