The Veterans Resource Center in Freeland is holding a Memorial Day event and open house at its community activity center from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday.

The event is open to all veterans, their families and their communities. A special tribute will be held at 3 p.m. and there will be a quiet memorial room where people can place photos, poetry, letters and mementos.
