Navy College gets new digs

Anyone taking classes at Navy College on Naval Air Station Whidbey Island will have to get used to new surroundings.

Navy College has moved into the Navy Operational Support Center, building 2739, on Midway Street, just west of the base gas station. Columbia College has also moved to NOSC and Brandman University will be relocating there next month.

A Navy spokesperson said the new facilities are a much better location for the schools.

“The facilities are really conducive to learning,” said Public Affairs Officer Kimberly Martin.

NOSC is also home to Naval Reserve personnel who train throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will also be moving to a new location, possibly off base, although there has not yet been an official announcement.

Colleges on NAS Whidbey are open to any adult learner with base access.

Navy College was formerly located in building 126 across from the static P-3 aircraft display on Langley Blvd. on the Ault Field base.
