Downtown ribbon cutting planned

There will be a ribbon cutting in honor of the new downtown Pioneer Way from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 in downtown Oak Harbor.

Members of the Swinomish Tribe will barbecue salmon and downtown restaurants will provide side dishes for a ‘sweet taste of Pioneer Way.’ Hot dogs will also be provided.

Other activities include music, a poker walk, balloons and, weather permitting, chalk art.
