Letter: Felici is caring, effective and best for sheriff job

I am writing to share my perspective on Rick Felici as candidate for Island County sheriff.

As a member of the county’s Law and Justice Council, I both worked with Chief Felici in a subcommittee and observed him in the role of co-chair. He is soft-spoken but obviously knows his mind. He works hard to do the right thing and do it well. I know he thinks about future needs and challenges the county might contend with.

He told us of talking to officers in a similar–sized county while on vacation, to identify common problems and hear how they deal with them.

I think Chief Felici will be a caring and effective sheriff who can lead us through the changes that will inevitably come to Island County.
