Editor,
There was an informative article in the Aug. 1 issue of the Whidbey News-Times concerning the status of the intended purchase of the historic Haller House on Front Street in Coupeville.
Historic Whidbey is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that needs $18,000 now, to meet a matching grant necessary for the purchase of the significant house.
Please help us raise this money for this worthwhile cause. Send a donation to: Historic Whidbey, P.O. Box 1123, Coupeville, WA 98239, or go to the website at historicwhidbey.org. Your donation will be tax deductible.
You will be helping to save a structure that will contribute as “the most authentic home in the most authentic town of the old Washington Territory,” quoting Lynn Hyde, historian. It will serve as a boon to Front Street, the Town of Coupeville, and indeed the state and the nation as a public heritage site.
