During the opening of the Plein Air Photography exhibition and sale Oct. 5, a “first” for the Pacific NorthWest Art School occurred. The first “Skyped” attendee of a gallery exhibition was recorded. Jeri Goldstein, a student who participated and whose work is exhibited in the show, was able to attend via Skype even though she was at home in Phoenix, Ariz.

Photography Instructor Ray Pfortner’s workshop attendees attempted to capture the essence of Central Whidbey in one weekend this July. The works depicted in the current exhibition, on display until Oct. 20, represent what they saw. Come view iconic structures and views preserved by students from as far away as Edmonton, Canada and Phoenix.

All work is for sale and the exhibition is free and open to the public. The Pacific NorthWest Art School is a visual arts education facility offering over 70 workshops each year in the mediums of painting, fiber arts and photography all taught by professional artists.
