The Oak Harbor cross country girls team placed second at first league meet of the year on Sept. 14 at the Skagit Regional Airport Trails in Burlington, scoring 42 against home Burlington’s 26. Oak Harbor’s Adrienne Root (pictured) won the girls 5,000 meters race easily, finishing in 19:07, over two minutes ahead of the second place runner. Oak Harbor Junior Claire Paul was fourth overall with a time of 22:25.
