Market kicks off Cornfest

Oak Harbor-based Whidbey Farm & Market is hosting the first-ever Cornfest this Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate all things corn. This event is part of Whidbey Island Cooperative’s Eat Local Month. The market is located across from the Blue Fox Drive-In on Monroe Landing Road.
Cornfest officially kicks off the market’s fall festivities which run until the end of October and includes the opening of a new corn maze as well as a pumpkin patch. In addition, there will be a giant hay pyramid, a bounce house, games, face painting. There may even be a sighting of the Market Sasquatch.
Cornfest also introduces the market’s cornhole tournament. Two-person teams are encouraged to register for the tournament on the market’s website at www.whidbeyfarmandmarket.com. Teams are asked to check-in at 11 a.m. on Saturday and the tournament starts at 12 p.m.
Visitors will be able to shop for produce, pasture-raised beef and pork, local dairy products and a wide range of gift items.
