Shooter targets house in Oak Harbor

Oak Harbor police are investigating a shooting Sunday night that left holes in a house but injured no one.
The details were very similar to a shooting in April, yet Capt. Mike Bailey with the Oak Harbor Police Department said investigators don’t think “at this point in the investigation” the two shootings are related.
At about 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Oak Harbor police responded to reports from several people in the northeast sector of the city of hearing gunshots, according to a report from the police department.
Police arrived on scene and spoke to several residents who had heard the gunfire. Detectives then responded and processed the crime scene.
Investigators believe that a residence was the possible target of the shooting. Several bullet holes were located in the back of the house, the report said.
The house was occupied at the time of the shooting, but no one was hit.
Investigators are asking that anyone with information about the shooting to contact Detective Lisa Powers at 360-279-4632 or ICOM at 360-679-9567.
The previous shooting occurred April 25, also in the northeast sector of the city. Police believed in that case a residence was targeted; bullet holes were found in the front of the house, the garage and two vehicles parked in front. Nobody was injured.
Neighbors who reported the gunshots in April also saw a small car speed off from the scene, the police reported.
