Central College honors Vester

Oak Harbor High School graduate Jahleel Vester received the Prins Sportsmanship Award at Central College (Pella, Iowa), the school announced this week.

The Prins Sportsmanship Award, named after Tunis W. and Harriet B. Prins, is given to a Central student who has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship in dealing with fellow students on campus or in meeting life’s challenges.

Vester, a senior, recently received his fourth varsity letter as a member of the Central wrestling program. Named the team’s Coaches Award recipient for this season, Vester amassed a career record of 49-53 while primarily competing in the 141-pound weight class.

Vester is heavily involved in Central’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Intervarsity Christian Fellowship chapters.
