The Coupeville High School tennis team’s quest for its fourth consecutive conference title is off to a good start.

The Wolves defeated visiting Chimacum 5-2 Friday, April 13, a day after Coupeville beat its only other Olympic 1A foe, Klahowya, 6-1.

Coupeville will play Klahowya and Chimacum two more times this spring to determine the conference champion. The Wolves (2-0, 3-5) and Eagles (0-1, 1-5) meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, in Silverdale.

Before that league match, Coupeville goes to Sequim (6-0) at 4 p.m. Monday, April 16, for a non-conference contest.

Coupeville results with Chimacum (0-1, 1-6)

Singles: 1, Claire Mietus lost 3-6, 6-4, 10-7; 2, Genna Wright lost 6-2, 4-6, 10-7; 3, Heather Nastali won 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles: Payton Aparicio/Sage Renninger won 6-1, 6-0; 2, Avalon Renninger/Tia Wurzrainer won 6-2, 6-1; 3, Maggie Crimmins/Kameryn St. Onge won 6-0, 6-0; 4, Zara Bradley/Jillian Mayne won 8-2.

JV: Nanci Melendrez/Elaira Nicolle won 4-1; Jaimee Masters/Emily Fielder won 6-0.
