The offensive struggles of the Oak Harbor High School softball team continued in the Wildcats’ six-inning 14-1 loss to visiting Snohomish Monday, March 19.

After being no-hit by Everett Friday, Oak Harbor managed only one hit against Snohomish.

Panther pitcher Bailey Greenlee took a perfect game into the fifth inning, then the Wildcats broke up the no-hitter and shutout.

Rylee Joseph led off with a walk, moved to second on Samantha Payne’s ground out and to third on a wild pitch. Eleanor Tucker plated Joseph with a sharp single up the middle.

Joseph also pitched well in relief, at one point retiring eight straight Panthers.

Greenlee finished with 10 strikeouts.

Snohomish (2-0, 3-1) scored two runs in the first and five in the second to pull away early.

Oak Harbor (0-2, 0-3) travels to Mount Vernon (0-2) for a 4 p.m. non-league game Tuesday, March 20.
