Oak Harbor places fifth / Girls golf

In the next to last regular season Wesco North match, the Oak Harbor High School girls golf team placed fifth out of seven schools Tuesday, May 2, at Marysville’s Cedarcrest Golf Course.

The Wildcats finish up conference action Thursday, May 4, at 2:30 p.m. at Everett’s Legion Memorial Golf Course and then compete in the divisional championship at 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, at Stanwood’s Kayak Point Golf Course.

In Tuesday’s match, Beth Paul paced the Wildcats with a 106, followed by Jessica Monaghan (111), Makalyn Miller (113), Kayleigh Burbank (117) and Avery Roberts (134).

Snohomish’s Vreni Todd was medalist with a 13-over 83.

Marysville-Pilchuck took team honors with 489 strokes, 10 better than Snohomish. Marysville Getchell finished at 504, Arlington 573, Oak Harbor 581, Everett 718 and Stanwood 727.
