The shorthanded Oak Harbor High School tennis team dropped a 6-1 match to visiting Marysville Getchell Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The Wildcats played without first singles Jackson Wezeman, who was ill, and fourth singles Sid Thomas, who is injured.

JJ Mitchell took over the top singles spot and won 6-2, 7-5 for Oak Harbor.

Oak Harbor (0-7, 2-9) goes to Snohomish (7-0, 9-1) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29.

Singles: 2, Jordan Park lost 6-3, 6-2; 3, Nathanael Thompson lost 6-4, 6-4; 4, John Bird lost 6-1, 6-2.

Doubles: 1, Trenton Cone/Matthew Kolden lost 6-0, 6-1; 2, Jacob Schermerhorn/Enrique Pere-Herronz lost 6-0, 6-2; 3, Ryan Mene/Scot Erickson lost 6-2, 6-0.
